What's In My Holiday Makeup Bag?!

Hey girls! As we speak I should be away on holiday so I have pre-scheduled this post to go up when I'm away. I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do a 'what's in my holiday makeup bag' post. I am going to show you the products that I have chosen to take with me and talk you through how I plan to use them. So if you want to know how I create a natural, sweatproof and waterproof look for the beach, pool or just a hot day, then keep reading..

  • So the first thing I have is my Carex Moisture Plus Hand Gel. This is a must for me as I always like to sanitize my hands before touching my face to make sure there isn't any nasty bacteria lurking on them.
  • Next up is my Piz Buin Allergy Face Cream with SPF 50+. I like to use a higher factor on my face than the rest of my body because the skin on your face is more delicate so I think it is really important to protect it. I got the allergy formula because I have taken reactions to other sun creams in the past. It is water-resistant which is great because you don't need to worry about it melting away in the sun or washing off in the water.
  • After I have put on my suncream I will apply my Garnier Anti-dark circles Roll on Concealer to brighten up my undereyes.
  • Once I am finished with concealer, I will go in with my Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in the shade '001 Transparent'. Using my Eco Tools fluffy brush, I apply this all over my face to reduce the shine from the suncream.
  • Then the star of the show, my Benefit Cha Cha Tint which is a cheek and lip stain so it basically doubles up as blush and lipstick. I would recommend using something like this rather than powder or cream blush products because it 'stains' your skin which makes the colour lasts so much longer. I just dot this on my cheeks and quickly blend it out with my Eco Tools Kabuki brush. It has a lovely dewy finish with a slight shimmer and a gorgeous mango tint.
  • For lips, I also use my Cha Cha Tint with a bit of Carmex Cherry Lip Balm on top. I chose this lipbalm because it adds a beautiful shine and has SPF 15  since you can't forget to protect your lips from the sun either.
  • Last but not least, I will of course curl my lashes with my Revlon eyelash curlers then apply a few coats of my Maybelline The Rocket Mascara in Waterproof Black. This is a great all around mascara, it adds volume, length, holds a curl and totally separates the lashes. I did a little experiment in the shower when I had it on by putting my face directly under the running water and the mascara seriously didn't budge, there was a bit of flaking but no smudging or running at all. I think a good waterproof mascara is a must-have for the summer time and I highly recommend this one.

So that is all the products I am taking with me. I know it doesn't seem like much but I'm trying to use as little makeup as I possibly can. Let me know what you think of these products and what your holiday makeup must-haves are. Sorry if I take a while to reply to comments as I'm not sure what the internet will be like at the place that I am staying.

Anyway, have a great day!

Lots of love,

Huge Fashion Haul: Topshop, Forever 21, Primark, H&M, Hollister + more!

Hello ladies! Long time no see! I am really sorry but I have just been so busy over the last few months that I never got round to blogging. But now since it is summer I have a lot more free time which means there will be plenty more posts coming your way. Regardless, today I have a rather large haul to share with you all that includes a lot of the goodies I picked up during my absence from various shopping trips.

The first place I went to was Topshop and I had a look at their wonderful nail polish stand. I picked up this lovely turquoise colour called 'Green Room'. All of their plain colours are £5 which isn't too bad for Topshop but they have some glitter polishes that are £6.

I haven't actually tried any products from the Topshop makeup range before but I was drawn to their cream blushes. They had so many gorgeous shades but I decided on 'Head Over Heals' which is a very summery coral-pink colour. I really like the consistency of these blushes and although they look quite bright they are extremely blendable. They retail for a reasonable £6 each.

Next I picked up this camouflage jacket which was on sale from £48 to £35 and I got it for only £31.50 with my student discount. I know I won't get much wear out of it at this time of year but I still really like it.

I had been lusting over disco pants for ages but I wasn't prepared to cough up £70 for pair from American Apparel. On the other hand I didn't think buying a cheap quality pair from Primark would be the best idea either. Since I knew I would get a lot of use out of them I decided to meet in the middle and go for the Topshop ones. These were £30 (£27 with student discount) which is nowhere near as ridiculously priced as the American Apparel ones but they are still very nice quality.

Lastly from Topshop I picked up this adorable light wash denim skater skirt. I love the style of this skirt. It looks great with a crop top (or a longer top tucked in) and I will be wearing it a lot this Summer. It only cost me £18 with student discount.

Next I went to Forever 21 where I picked up a few pieces of their amazing jewellery. I am in love with their jewellery section, everything is so cheap yet gorgeous! The first thing I picked up was a lovely pair of mini gold cross studs for only £1.65. Then I picked up a dainty gold necklace with an adorable mint blue bow, also only £1.65 and an edgy faux leather bracelet with gold spikes at £4.90.

The next thing I purchased from Forever 21 was this gorgeous pair of white lace shorts. I spent ages searching for a decent pair of lace shorts until I found these babies. I think they have such a classy look for just £15.

After that I went to Primark where I picked up this cute nautical style rucksack for £9. It's made of a navy-blue and white striped fabric with brown faux leather accents. I don't actually own any other rucksacks so I think this will come in really handy when I'm traveling.

Then I picked up this cute coral coloured lace crop top. I really like the style of this top because it looks great with so many things (disco pants, a skater skirt, high-waisted shorts/jeans and even leggings). The best part is it only cost me £4, what a bargain!

I had been eyeing up denim shirts for a while and I decided to go for this light wash one from Primark. I think they are so versatile because you can wear them buttoned up as a shirt or you can unbutton them and wear them as a sort of denim jacket. This only cost me £10 which I thought was a great deal considering all the wear I can get out of it.

So I have a slight obsession with Primark nails. I got three packs; the first is white with a pink floral design, the second(my favourite) are nude with purple tips and cute butterflies, then the third pack are pink with black polka dots and a bow. The nails themselves aren't the best quality but the designs are unbelievably cute and the glue that comes with them is actually very good. If I am careful they can last me up to a week with only a couple falling off which isn't bad for a pound.

I saw this tablet case for £6 and I thought it was so cute that I just had to get it. It's made of a cream coloured faux leather and it has a little sleeping kitty face with ears, eyelashes, diamantes, a pink heart-shaped nose on the front and a convenient zip at the top. It's actually a bit big for my iPad mini but I can fit it in so it's all good.

My last purchase from Primark was this pretty pair of flip flops for just £2.50. They have white faux leather straps with a bow which makes them a lot cuter and comfier than your average pair of flip flops.

I went to H&M with my friend but I wasn't planning on getting anything myself until I saw this gorgeous nail polish. I have never actually tried any H&M nail polishes before but I am hoping it will be decent quality considering it was the same price as your average Barry M nail paint. This colour is called 'Norwegian Sky' which I think is such an adorable name. It looks like an ordinary light blue shade but it actually has really pretty bright blue duochrome reflects to it which I couldn't properly capture on camera.

I picked up a couple of things from their sale section too. I got a pair of pastel blue skinny jeans that were reduced from £24.99 to only £7! I also got this loose mint blue top with three-quarter length sleeves, reduced from £7.99 to just £3.

Then I popped into Hollister where I had a look at their sale section. I picked up this loose white top with dark blue writing and their logo underneath. The material is so soft and I really like the design, it was on reduced from £20 to £13.99.

I also picked up a pair of their low-rise dark wash denim shorts. I am in love with these, especially the distressed detailing and they are now my go-to summer shorts. They were £39 which is rather pricey but they are great quality and I know I am going to get loads of use out of them.

Next I picked up a few items from Tesco which isn't somewhere that I typically shop for clothes but they had a great sale on. The first thing I got was this cute light green tank top with white Aztec print which was reduced from £8 to £5. I also picked up this sheer white playsuit with crochet detailing from their holiday shop section which I think will be perfect for the beach. It is lovely quality pure cotton which is great for only £12.

Last but not least I picked up this gorgeous Peter Pan collar floral dress from New Look. This was actually from the girls section but I thought it was so pretty that I had to get it anyway. It was £12.99 and I got it in the biggest size they had which was 14 years and it surprisingly fits me very well (I'm a ladies 6-8).

That's it for this haul! Let me know if you enjoyed it. I have a few more hauls like this planned which will include all the beauty and online shopping I have done since my last post in April so keep an eye out for that.

Lots of love,
MissJammyxo

Review: Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers + Swatches

Hey girls! I mentioned the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers in a Boots Haul last month and said that I plan on doing a review. So as promised, after a good few weeks of testing here it is..

So what exactly are they? I think Rimmel describes them very well. "The intense rich colour of a lipstick, enhanced by a satin smooth shine. It's neither a lipstick nor a gloss... It's BIGGER than both! Available in 8 shades, from subtly sexy to spectacular" I currently own two of these bad boys in the colours 600 Nude Eclipse and 101 Celestial. I am usually not very into nude lips but Nude Eclipse is the perfect nude colour. It is very wearable and has a lovely peachyness so it doesn't look like you have just slapped foundation on your lips. Whereas Celestial is a buildable dusky pink with slight blueish undertones to it.

Now on to the product itself. The things that I like are the sleek design, the creamy consistency and most of all the gorgeous range of colours. I limited myself to just two and I had a lot of trouble deciding on which colours to get. I love the packaging of this product and the fact you can easily see the colour from the outside. It has a unique doe foot applicator with a dent that collects the product which I also really like. The formula is wonderfully opaque, pigmented and non-sticky.

However there are a few aspects I didn't enjoy quite as much. First of all the price. I admit that individually £5.99 isn't incredibly unreasonable but most people won't settle for just one shade. If I were to buy the whole collection, like some bloggers I have seen, it would cost me nearly £50. The staying power isn't ideal either. I found that the glossy finish would quickly wear off in the space of about half an hour and I would only be left with a bit of colour. I like the consistency but after the gloss fades it becomes rather drying on the lips and clings on to any dry patches. And most of all I hate the cheap plasticky smell!

Although these are far from perfect I have enjoyed my experience with them. They are available at Boots and Superdrug stores in the UK and are currently on offer in Boots for £4.99.

Would I repurchase?: I may end up trying out some of the other colours

Have you tried these lip lacquers? How did you find them?

NOTD: Models Own & Primark

Hello ladies! I hope you are all doing okay!♥
Today I have a gorgeous nail polish combination to share with you that I have been loving recently. I think it is quite different to anything I have seen before. From a distance it looks rather basic but at a closer look you can see all the beautiful shimmering colours come through. It also changes dramatically depending on the lighting as you will be able to tell from the shot with flash and without.

To create this look I used 'Balearic Cool' by Models Own as a base colour and applied two coats. It is a nice bright blue but the star of the show is definitely my new Primark Angelica Nail Polish in the shade '93 Angel' which I applied a coat of on top. It is a lovely sheer sky blue shade with a pretty purplish shimmer that completely transform the look. As you may have seen in Primark Haul, I picked this up for only £2.50 which I think is an amazing deal for such a unique colour. If you don't live near a Primark you could try Models Own 'Indian Ocean' instead which I have heard is very similar.

That's all there is to it! Tell me what you think of this nail polish look and let me know what's on your nails at the moment♥

Primark Haul!

Hey girls! So recently I have been doing quite a bit of shopping in Primark and decided that it was time for a haul. As you will see from the things that I have picked up I have been really enjoying Primark's dupes of various expensive brands.
First of all I picked a few things from the jewelery section. I got two pairs of large cross stud earrings in silver and gold for only £1.50 and a four pack of boho style bracelets for only £2!

Next up I got this brown leather 'Cambridge Satchel Company' style knock off that I picked up for only £9. It was such a bargain compared to the price of real ones. It feels like really nice quality and I think it will be the perfect size for traveling.

I saw this nude coloured bag for only £4 so I decided to get it as well because it seemed like a better size for everyday.

After that I saw this navy blue "DORK" tank top similar to the Topshop ones. It was only £4 which I thought was a total bargain considering what you would have to pay in other shops.

I also picked up this adorable oatmeal coloured moustache top. It was only £4 too and I thought the "SORRY MUST DASH!" message was very cute.
Then I picked up one of their American Apparel-esque hoodies for only £8. They have them in loads of colours but I decided on the black just because it seemed the most versatile.

I have been wanting a pair of brogues for ages but I finally just got round to getting them. These were £10 which isn't bad but for Primark I expected them to be a bit cheaper.

I also purchased a pair of their navy blue vans lookalike trainers for only £6. Minus the Vans logo they look virtually identical to a pair of £40 Vans and a few people have actually complimented me on them thinking they were real Vans.

I hadn't bought a Primark nail polish in a long while until I saw this gorgeous colour. It's a unique shimmery sky blue with a pretty pinky purple sheen to it. I'm not sure how opaque it is going to be but I think it would look lovely as a top coat too. This was only £2.50 and it is in the shade '93 Angel'.

At the checkout I saw these plastic coffee mugs that reminded me of the paper to-go cups you get in Starbucks and whatnot. There was a few different designs but I ended up going for the moustache one. It was only £2.50, it's a nice size and I think it will do a better job keeping your drink warm than an ordinary mug would.

That's all for today, let me know if any of you have posted a Primark haul recently because they are my favourite♥ I hope you all have a lovely Easter!

Another Day, Another Boots Haul!

Hello ladies! Today I have another Boots haul for you all..

Firstly I picked up a few goodies from Rimmel when the 3 for 2 offer was on. After having such a great experience with the Wake Me Up concealer I decided to give the foundation a shot too. I also repurchased one of their wonderful Stay Matte Pressed Powders and ended up getting a bottle of Nail Tip Whitener for free!

I had been meaning to try out a new facial scrub for quite a while when I heard about the Simple Smoothing Scrub. It contains rice granules which 'gently exfoliate and improve skin condition'. I have always liked Simple skincare products so I have high hopes for this scrub.

The new Maybelline Rocket Mascara was on offer for £5.99 instead of £7.99 so I decided to buy it just now when it is on offer because I would probably end up buying at some point anyway. Since I just recently opened a new mascara, I will be keeping this for the summer time so I opted for the waterproof version.

I am a huge fan of the Models Own Hedkandi range so I picked up the shades Balearic Cool and Hedonist to add to my collection. They are both very bright, pretty and perfect for summer so I am sure I will get a lot of use out of them.

Next I picked up the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. When I first heard about this mascara I thought it was a genius idea! Although considering it is high end and basically the only one on the market, I expected it to be ridiculously overpriced but at £11 it actually wasn't too pricey. It is so easy to use and I highly recommend giving it a go if, like me, you have trouble trying to applying mascara to your bottom lashes.

I was looking for a new nail buffer when I came across the Stylfile S-buffer. I am used to the block shaped buffers and I have never seen one like this before. The S-shape is supposed to follow the natural curve of your nail which will hopefully make buffing much faster and easier.

Then I picked up a couple of things from the Loreal No Sulphates hair product range. I repurchased a tube of the EverSleek Shampoo which has been my favourite shampoo at the moment. They were sold out of the conditioner so I decided to try out the hair mask instead. I have never actually tried a hair mask before so I am very interested to see how it performs.

Lastly I picked up two of the new Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers in the shades Nude Eclipse and Celestial. I wish I had purchased these when the 3 for 2 offer was on because I could have gotten another one for free. Anyway I don't want to talk about these too much as I plan to do a full review on them in the near future.

I hope you liked this late night haul! Tell me your thoughts on these products and let me know if you have posted a beauty haul recently!
Enjoy the rest of your night♥

Concealer Review: Rimmel VS Collection(2000)!!

Hi everyone!
Around Summer time I posted a Concealer Comparison between Benefit and Soap&Glory which got quite a good response. So after purchasing my Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, a few weeks ago, I decide to do something similar between it and the Collection(formally known as Collection 2000) Lasting Perfection Concealer.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
-£4.19
Starting with the much loved Collection concealer which claims to give transfer proof, water resistant, ultimate wear full coverage for up to 16 hours. The two things that I like most about this concealer are the flawless coverage and the great formula. It gives the best coverage that I have ever seen in a drugstore concealer. I really like the thick consistency which dries beautifully matte and doesn't even need to be powdered. It lasts all day and without creasing at all.
The only thing that I have a problem with is the range of colours. The light shade works very well for me in the summer when I am a bit more tan. All though when it comes to winter it is a tad too orange for me. I can rectify this by mixing the colours but I would still prefer if they added a few more shades to the range. As you can see in my picture the writing on the tube has completely worn off which shows that the packaging must be cheaply made. The doe foot applicator is nice but I would love if they made some slight changes to the packaging and increased the size of the tube. If you are using it everyday the tiny tube doesn't go very far.
Nevertheless the product itself remains one of my all time favourite concealers, it definitely lives up to the hype and I would highly recommend to anyone.
Rating out of 10: 9

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
-£5.49

Now on to the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealear. There has been a lot of hype surrounding the Wake Me Up Foundation but I think the concealer deserves more love. It claims to be Rimmel's first full coverage concealer which gives an instant anti-fatigue effect with peptides and vitamin moisturising complex to visibly reawaken and illuminate under the eyes aswell as completely concealing spots and other blemishes. In terms of packaging I am a huge fan. I think the bright orange lid looks really cool, it is a much better size and it feels a lot more sturdy. The formula of this concealer is very different. It has a much thinner, sheerer, creamier and almost oily consistency. The dewy finish is nice but you need to use powder or it doesn't set very well. It contains subtle glitters to help with the brightening 'anti-fatigue effect'. I was a bit skeptical about having a glittery concealer but honestly you can't even see them in the swatch so when it is blended in on your face it's not all noticeable. I was a lot happier with Rimmel's range of shades and I think the Ivory shade is a perfect match for my skin. I really like this concealer for the undereye area but I don't think it works particularly well on blemishes, whereas the Collection concealer does both. I also wouldn't call it a full coverage concealer as I feel it has a lighter natural look.

Overall I do like this concealer too. If you are looking for a brightening concealer which still maintains a natural look I would say it is worth a shot.
Rating out of 10: 8

In conclusion I think both of these concealers are a good buy. I have slightly favoured the Collection one just because I like a more flawless look but that is just my personal preference.

I hope some of you found this helpful!
Let me know what your favourite concealer is because I am always up for trying a new one!
Thanks for reading♥
